Don't Sleep On Black Satellite

Female-fronted alt-rock duo, Black Satellite, released their debut album, Endless, last month to critical acclaim. Despite more than a half decade of writing songs together, the duo finally got the recognition they deserve when they blasted the rock world with their debut single “Valkyrie.”
Since inception, the New York-based duo of vocalist Larissa Vale and guitarist Kyle Hawken have written a breathtaking album. With Hawken‘s hard-hitting guitar riffs and Vale‘s heavenly and yet gritty voice, Black Satellite is aggressive without crossing outside of a mainstream sound.Endless is a collection of tracks that resemble a diverse range of artists, from the grittiness and industrial feel of Marilyn Manson or Nine Inch Nails, to the haunting vocals of In This Moment or PVRIS. Songs like “My Resolve,” “Not a Word,” and “Calamity” have the most noticeable industrial influences; while “Affliction” and “Still I Remember” really slow down the pace of the album. Though their sound ranges, I think they'll find a home with fans of Silversun Pickups; with “Blind,” carrying the closest resemblance. The harmonizing through the hook is pure gold; and if I had to introduce this band to someone, I’d use this song.
“The album is a visceral reflection of our growth and maturation over the last few years,” lead vocalist Larissa Vale told Billboard, “Endless signifies our ability to finally leave the past behind after a period of feeling like we would be trapped in it forever.” And they have done a brilliant job at proving that the past can’t hold them back. There is something truly incredible about bands like this, that just seem to pop up out of nowhere. It’s like that buried treasure that everyone is just walking over until one day someone digs it up. It’ll be no surprise when they start performing on late night television and opening up huge tours; inevitably building their own empire with their unique but familiar sound. The debut album Endless, a solid 4 out of 5, by Black Satellite is available NOW and you can purchase the album on their website: HERE. The album is also available on Spotify and you can check out a couple of tracks, from the album, below."Blind"
