Brick + Mortar and The Unlikely Candidates rock a co-headliner in Durham, NC.

Brick + Mortar's coheadlining tour with The Unlikely Candidates came through Durham, NC last Wednesday as the 7th show on their 24 show run. These two bands, while similar in musical style, have two very differing stage presences that contrast extremely well when paired together.

The Unlikely Candidates kicked things off first, with their traditional 5 piece set up. Best known for their single, "Follow My Feet", the rock group managed to pull from their recorded songs and breathe new life in them in the form of live music. Vocalist Kyle Morris helps lead the group with his bombastic and powerful stage presence, while members such as lead guitarist Brenton Carney executed the complex guitar riffs flawlessly. The traditional rock band set up works very well for The Unlikely Candidates, and also allowed for some nice contrast in comparison to the more experimental setup of Brick + Mortar.

Brick + Mortar is a duo made up of Brandon Asraf, who acts as both lead vocalist and bass guitarist, and John Tacon on drums. They are joined on tour by artist Richie Brown, who helps the duo on stage by displaying his animations with the use of a projector, as well as dressing up in costumes as another form of visual aid for the audience. The group is known for their wild and hilariously silly stage performance, which is an incredible addition to the sharp and edgy indie rock music in the bands discography. From dressing up as "Bleezorb the Elf" to simply holding a sign and dancing as hard as humanly possible, Richie Brown manages to turn the duos live performance into an unforgettable live experience. This is a show that is only made better by the bands years of experience and supreme talent as musicians, and is one that is best experienced live.

Brick + Mortar has tour dates throughout June, and will be releasing their latest album, "Meta Meta Etc." on July 27th.
