The Band Camino have come a long way from playing to 11 people when they first headlined at The Pour House in Raleigh. Now they have SOLD OUT their entire headlining tour and have tons of people desperately trying to get tickets online and outside the venues.

On a chilly Tuesday night in January, a line wrapped down the street as people lined up in the rain trying to get the best spot in the house. In a much appreciated change from past small tours I've been to there was only one opener, newcomer's Hardcastle, who amped up the crowd with their melodic melodies.

While everyone danced around there was no mistaking that the crowd was there for The Band Camino. After a great run opening for Ben Rector, their fan pool ranged from pre-teens to adults in their late twenties and early 30s. I was also impressed by the amount of male fans in the crowd, singing along to their early hits such as "Fool of Myself" and staying around for their final and newest song "Daphne Blue."

It's also risky to play new material when you're trying to entertain and wow fans but The Band Camino played two unreleased tracks "The Internet" and "See Through" - Since they are showcasing new material I hope this means an upcoming album is in their future.

Overall this show reminded me of my youth, crowding into small venues waiting to sing my heart out, except this time I could see the girl I used to be, standing at the front, taking video clips while gazing into their eyes. It's an odd experience being on the outskirts with the "older" crowd, but hey at least I get beer. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for The Band Camino on my concert calendars and know that these guys are going to move on to bigger arenas soon.
