Weezer surprises with sudden release of the Teal album

Weezer is one of those chameleon type bands that have a seemingly endless archive of tracks that you forget are by the same band because they sound so different. Formed in the early 90's the band has had multiple #1 hits, and is arguably (in my opinion) The Beatles of my generation. The band has fallen off in recent years, but a cover of Toto's "Africa" in 2018 caused a resurgence in Weezer's popularity; and all caused by a random person on Twitter that went viral with a their request for Weezer to cover "Africa".

If you are a fan of their "Africa" cover, well buckle in your #ThrowbackThursday
seatbelts, at midnight on Thursday morning the band suddenly released Weezer (The Teal Album), which includes ten tracks of covers and a photo of the band all dressed up 80's-esque attire, like they're going out for a night at the Roxbury. The band is not going rogue cover band status, and you won't be seeing them performing at weddings any time soon, so do not worry about that. The Teal Album is just a little snack to tide everyone over until their new album Weezer (The Black Album) comes out on March 1.
