Ten years ago, August Burns Red released their second full-length album "Messengers." In honor of their monumental album, the band is currently on a Ten-year anniversary tour with Protest The Hero, In Hearts Wake, and '68. Check out our coverage from the show in Worcester MA below!
'68 - An absolute breathe of fresh air within the scene, their electrifying energy and uninhibited passion will shake your ideas of what musical creativity is. As an audience member, you will definitely lose at least one shoe as their super high speed beats and flawless timing make you want to mosh "like nobody's watching".
In Hearts Wake - Everybody loves a rowdy bunch! Despite the bone chilling temperatures these Aussies were excited to be there and we were all very exited to have them. Their set brought the night to the next level complete with a pool raft surf over the crowd! If you managed to still have one shoe left after '68, you would have definitely lost it by the time In Hearts Wake was done.
Protest The Hero - Hailing from Canada, Protest The Hero kept the venue warm, bringing the fire particularly with the impressive vocal energy, flawless lead guitar, and the balance between each element on stage. Between songs, their campy humor and friendly sports banter kept the crowd endearingly engaged.
August Burns Red - Their lighting set up alone set the expectations high before they took the stage and they definitely delivered. As always, they hit hard and the crowd hit back. Being washed over by falling crowd surfers between shots and ducking under one seriously miscalculated stage dive, the adrenaline was running high. Even those few who had remained relatively calm throughout the evening were were anxiously surging toward the stage. It's no surprise that August Burns Red knows what they're doing when it comes to live sound. It's like listening to the album right off iTunes. Finishing out the night with their most popular song "White Washed" it was surreal to watch a song unify a crowd of strangers within just a couple seconds of starting.
