There is something special about a band with only three members, and the trio that makes up the Boston-based rock band Long Time is no exception to that. Vocalist/Guitarist Thomas John Cardin, Bassist Colin Dinnie, and Drummer Andrew Nault have their debut full-length "Never Alone" hitting the public on October 13th and we got an early listen. The eight track album is a masterfully crafted piece that is pure rock at the core. The rhythm and riffs are bone crushing and infectious; and Cardin's vocals serenade listeners with poetic lyrics carefully placed over the music. The opening track "River" displays their talents and influences with very evidently driven guitar riffs and the musical ups and downs that can be expected throughout the rest of the album. The band goes more hard rock with "Hostage," while other songs like "Windows" dives into a slow and grungy world to close out the album. The total run time of the album is just about 32 minutes, which matches a lot of other 10-12 song full-lengths; so there is nothin lacking with this eight-track album.
The power trio shines with respectful homage to influences from their respective backgrounds, through this debut full-length from Medical Records. Rock and Roll is well and alive, and anyone that thinks otherwise can just pick up this record and be quickly corrected to see the truth of the music. Long Time's "Never Alone" is due for release on October 13th through Medical Records. Take a listen to their single "River" and see the pure talent and the current state of rock and roll for yourself.
