Laura Pergolizzi or better known as LP blessed the Tarheel state, just off of the Tarheel campus, with an inspiring performance at Carrboro’s Cat’s Cradle on Wednesday night.

Sporting a very punk-esque look, the indie-pop/folk rock singer-songwriter put her raw talent and energy on the line, in front of a nearly sold out crowd. A very loud crowd that loved every minute of her set; screaming and cheering at any eye contact or comment LP made to them.

through her music it's clear  how powerful and controlled her voice is; but she also plays the acoustic guitar, ukulele, harmonica, and she even whistles quite impressively.

The two opening acts were just as impressive as the headliner. On her first ever tour, Kat Cunning put on display just a small glimpse into her enormous amount of talent. The singer, songwriter, actress, and trained dancer; surely didn't look to be new to the stage, and that might have something to do with her starring in Cirque du Soleil's first Broadway show Paramour, just last year.

The other opening act was just as talented. Noah Kahan, and the rest of his band, were fresh off his late night TV debut, with a performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert the night before. And he didn't shy away from a little humble brag about it after playing “Hurt Somebody”, the song played during their TV performance.

While not as exciting in the same way as a pure rock show, there is a different kind of excitement about a singer-songwriter show. There is just so much talent from every person that sets foot on stage, it's hard not to completely get entranced in the music and the moment.

Closing out this current tour this week, LP will now take off next week for a Russian tour before coming back to the states for Coachella.

Keep track of more upcoming tour dates and new music from LP through her website and various social media networks.
