Myspace may be pretty much forgotten, but there are some really amazing things that have come from it. With such a big music presence on the former social media titan, there were a lot of great artists and bands that gained popularity from it. One of those big Myspace artists is a lady that goes by the name Lights

Her unique and catchy brand of pop music is something that's hard to come by with all the top 40 hits that get played and replayed; until they're drilled into your brain. Although her music hasn't had the mainstream success that it deservers, Lights' music gets stuck in your head from the first time you hear it. From songs from back in 2011 like "Toes", "Saviour", and 2014's "Up We Go"; and she's still dropping hits with her most recent album Skin & Earth. Lights has got to be one of seemingly few artists that can't do wrong and just has that pure singer-songwriter talent.

In support of her most recent album, Lights is currently on the road on the We Were Here Tour; and we were able to catch this amazing show when she came through Carrboro NC. With support from Chase Atlantic and DCF, this Thursday night show honestly surprised me with the turn out. Before the show even got started it looked like a near sell out crowd, so hats off to the still growing popularity of Lights and her taking out the alternative pop/R&B trio Chase Atlantic.

Chase Atlantic seemed to have a lot of fans at the show, which isn't very surprising given their sound that's like a blend between The Weekend and The 1975. Although they have a very poppy/R&B sound, they have a  full band for their live show and put on quite the performance. Check out photos from their set below:

Although the trio and the rest of their band put on a good show, nothing could compare to what Lights brought to the stage. Lights and her band put on a show to remember with a great mix of old music and new music. She played a keyboard in a pizza box, shredded on the guitar, and serenaded the packed venue while sat behind a piano. If anyone wants to question the talent or ability of pop artists, I highly recommend heading out to one of the shows on the We Were Here Tour or any of her future shows. Not only does she stand up in comparison to the mainstream pop superstars with her music, she doesn't need the choreography and back-up dancers to put on a great show.
