When Underoath announced that they were disbanding in 2012, it crushed the post-hardcore/hard rock world. A lot of fans didn't want to believe it, many bands opened up about how Underoath influenced their music, and things were all just a little dim. Then in January 2013, the band played what was to be their final show for a sold out crowd in their home state of Florida.
The band released the “Tired Violence” documentary in 2015 which felt like final closure. The doc, filmed during their final tour, explained the reasons behind the breakup through some extremely personal interviews with the members and as a fan I understood.
Then the unexpected happened.
The band announced their reunion to celebrate the anniversaries of two of the most influential albums in post-hardcore music. Since then, the band has gone pretty much non-stop with touring and festival appearances.

And today, Underoath has announced a new album; cementing that they're here to stay (for now), as well as their signing to Fearless Records.
Erase Me is due out April 6th and the first single off the album is pure Underoath. “On My Teeth” has the catchy hooks and the infectious guitar riffs that you would expect from the band. It's almost like the never even missed a step. What break up?
