Phillip Phillips - The Magnetic Tour
Take a moment a moment and think about the pop-culture phenomenon that was American Idol. With 15 season, and a new season to begin this year, how many winners can you think of that you still hear about? The one that most everybody will agree upon is Kelly Clarkson, but one winner you may also be familiar with as a still relevant artist is Phillip Phillips. If you're not familiar with him, what is Phillip Phillips up to, you may ask? Well he is currently about a quarter of the way through The Magnetic Tour, and we caught his show in Carrboro NC at Cat's Cradle.

Most recognized by his hit song "Home", the folk rock/pop singer-songwriter is still selling out venues and continuing to grow as an artist. With four years between albums, Phillip Phillips recently released hist lates album, Collateral, on January 19, 2018 through Interscope Records. The Magnetic Tour is directly in support of this new album, so you could expect the majority of his set to be dedicated to new music. With six songs of the 13 song set being from the new album, it was as expected, but he didn't shy away from the favorites from his previous two albums. Songs like "Home" and "Raging Fire" got some of the biggest rises out of the packed Carrboro venue; which is not surprising at all since these are some of his biggest and most popular songs.
