Yes, we know we’re late to the party, but we’re honestly glad we’re here.
Reel Big Fish’s Life Sucks…Let’s Dance album is exactly what we needed to get through the gloomy weather 2019 has been throwing our way. Again, Reel Big Fish (RBF) released an easy to listen to, jam filled album which makes us want to be on a beach somewhere getting sunburnt.
Reel Big Fish’s Ska Punk latest studio album, number nine to be exact, will have the crowd bouncing for years to come. Brass section and all, you know exactly what you are getting yourself into when it comes to Life Sucks…Let’s Dance. Depending on if you like predictability—you may love or hate album number nine (we personally love it).
You’ve got to appreciate the continuity of RBF, being able to stay extremely relevant in the music scene since the ’90’s…we can’t talk about RBF without shouting out all the ’90’s kids that are keeping that fun, up-beat Ska Punk alive. We see you and we definitely hear you. How can we hate on that brass, we can’t we love it too much!
Back to the album at hand though, like we said before, we needed this. After months of what seems like Warped Tour mourning, our number one dudes came through with some nostalgia and some sunshine to brighten up this wack winter.
Oh, and by the way, they already have a music video out:
How did you not know we have a NEW ALBUM out!? We thought everybody knew!! Check it out!! #lifesucksletsdance #reelbigfish #reelbigfishband pic.twitter.com/VT7wJvhJe5

Rating Life Sucks…Let’s Dance is hard. I want to say it’s fantastic, because it is, but it’s like everything else. Reel Big Fish have their sound, their following and the time to create good music. For that, I give this album a solid 4/5 stars. Honestly, it’s great—I’m just a little bitter that I’m content about it.
From, yelling about locals to wanting to bone a bleach blonde chick—I do have to say this album is teetering on the line of NSFW. If you choose to listen to Life Sucks…Let’s Dance at your place of business, possibly opt for head-phones, but really that goes for any RBF album you decide to turn on, so do you really need the heads-up?
In other Reel Big Fish news, the band is gearing up for the “Back to the Beach” festival on April 27th in Huntington Beach, CA, and the Nova Rock festival on June 15th in Austria. I feel like I have to ask, will RBF be making an appearance at one of the dates for the Warped Weekends? I’ll riot if it doesn’t happen, take my word for it.
You can keep up with Reel Big Fish on their website, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook.
Peace, Love and Ska
