Last Friday night, Between The Buried And Me kicked off their headlining run of The Summer Slaughter Tour in their home state. The Ritz in Raleigh NC played host to the prog-metal band as well as Born of Osiris, Veil of Maya, Erra, The Agony Scene, Allegaeon, Terror Universal, Soreption, and Entheos.
On the same day, Between The Buried And Me released their brand new album Automata II. This is the ninth studio album from the North Carolina band, and follows up Automata I which was released in March of this year. But they are not the only band with new music on this tour. Born of Osiris recently finished up recording the new album that follows up their 2015 release, Soul Sphere; and just this week they released the first single from that album. Take a listen the new song 'Silence the Echo' HERE now.
The Agony Scene will also release their first album in 11 years this month. Tormentor is due out this Friday, July 20th; pre-orders are available now HERE. And finally a band that is finally getting some of the recognition that they deserver, Erra, are due to release their new album Neon on August 10th. The album follows up their highly talked about 2016 album Drift.
While the 2018 Summer Slaughter lineup has had a lot of mixed reactions being much less deathcore/death metal and a lot more progressive, but there is so much to enjoy from beginning to end. The female lead Entheos opens up the entire tour and it's non stop headbanger heaven throughout every single band.
If you missed the Raleigh show, or if you're still on the fence about going, take a look at our photos from the kick off show and see the remaining dates of the tour below.
