Blue October coming to Raleigh's Lincoln Theatre on April 24

Platinum-selling alt-rock artists Blue October will be coming to Raleigh's own Lincoln Theatre on Wednesday, April 24th and I'd love to see if we can work together on helping promote the show. Their latest album I Hope You're Happy has spawned three Top 40 hits and the current single "KING" is getting spins nationwide including WKQX (Chicago), WPOI (Honululu), WEBN (Cincinnati), and over a dozen other stations.

Lead singer Justin Fustenfeld has a fascinating life story, though it started off like nearly every Rock n' Roll story does - with copious amounts of booze and drugs. But his is not your standard platinum-selling artist story in that this addiction almost killed him and took away his kid (he lost custody). Just as he was on top of the world with chart-topping hits, he spiraled out of control and lost everything.

But instead of this being a tragic story... He picked himself up and turned it into not only a story of triumph but also a story about musical rebirth and redirection. Justin threw himself into rehab (his rehab roommate is a alt-rock celeb) and got his life back together.

The result? This album. It's a great alt-rock-pop album. It's not all earnest rock... not in the least. It's driving, pulsating, throbbing infectious alternative... Sometimes sounding like early Arcade Fire and at times even Passion Pit, other times sounding like Trashcan Sinatras, and even other times sounding not too far removed from Death Cab... but always staying deeply rooted in what made early Blue October songs so powerful... Justin's distinctive and warm vocals and that driving fierce determination to get you moving.

Raleigh's chance to see Blue October and hear new songs off of I Hope You're Happy will come on Wednesday April 24, 2019 at Lincoln Theatre. Tickets are still available for the show and can be purchased HERE
